The Greater District Heights Community Coalition consists of local leaders in politics, education, law enforcement, business development, and faith-based institutions, all committed to establishing a safer, stronger District Heights community.
Through continued collaboration, we believe we can reduce gun violence, restore community trust, and create lasting change.
Community Collaboration is Key, and We Will Do Our Part.
The Coalition’s purpose is simple but vital: to create a safer, stronger, and more resilient community where all residents feel secure and valued. To achieve this, the Coalition focuses on the following goals:
Who Are We?
The Greater District Heights Community Coalition is a collaborative, community-based initiative established to address the pressing issues of gun violence, community safety, and overall well-being in District Heights and the surrounding areas.
Recognizing that no single entity can solve these challenges alone, the Coalition brings together key stakeholders from law enforcement, faith-based institutions, schools, businesses, and community organizations to work as one united front.
Our Story
The Coalition was born out of the urgent need to respond to the rise in violence and community instability in Summer 2024. The City of District Heights, along with its community partners, recognized that gun violence affects everyone, from children to businesses, and that a multifaceted, collaborative approach was essential.
Through conversations with residents, stakeholders, and leadership across various sectors, the Coalition was formally convened to take immediate and long-term action.
Our Vision & Pledge
We envision a future where every resident, child, and business owner in District Heights feels safe, supported, and empowered. Through continued collaboration, we believe we can reduce gun violence, restore community trust, and create lasting change.
Our commitment is unwavering: Collaboration is Key, and we will do our part to make District Heights a safer place for everyone. By working together—law enforcement, faith leaders, educators, business owners, and residents—we will build a stronger, more united community.
